LANDCARE CHRISTMAS PARTY
An afternoon of Irish music was the theme for this year’s Hallidays Point Landcare/Tidy Towns Christmas party held at Black Head Surf Club.
Landcare is always looking for volunteers to help maintain our littoral rainforests at Black Head, Red Head, and Diamond Beach. Regular working bees are held, and the end results can been seen in the well preserved reserves and picturesque walking tracks.
Contact the co-ordinator Alan Pursch on 6559 3365 if you would like to lend a hand.

The Hallidays Point community is working together to organise the inaugural ocean swim event to be held on January 3, 2010.
Aptly named the Black Head Head to Head Ocean Swim, the event will consist of two swim distances, both of which will commence in front of the Black Head Surf Club. A 700 metre swim will start at 9am, and it will be followed by the main 1.5km swim at 10am.
The Black Head Head to Head Ocean Swim 2010 is an event organised by the Blackhead Surf Lifesaving Club, with assistance from members of the Hallidays Point Social Triathlon Group. All monies raised will go to the Blackhead Surf Lifesaving Club in its continued mission to make the ocean a safer place to swim and have fun, and to improve and maintain its facilities.
It will be a great day out, even for those who don’t choose to swim. Breakfast on the Balcony will kick off at 7.30am and will include some takeaway meals, followed by a BBQ on the beach during and after the race. The Blackhead Bazaar will be held on the same day.
Preregistration will be available, with prices starting at $20 per swimmer for the 700 metre swim and $25 for the 1.5km swim. Ages 12-15 and 65-74 will be $15 for either distance. Entrants over 75 will be free. A family of 2 adults and school age children will be $60. Fees will be non-refundable. On day registrations will incur an extra fee of $10 per entry.

Saw a photo of my childhood friend Norman Shapro in your guide. We went to middle school and high school in California. Would it be possible to get him this note and have him reply. It would be great to catch up.
